2010 CA Hwy 1 Vintage VW Cruise August 1st to August 8th

Hey all you Hwy 1 Vintage VW cruisers!

We are starting early this year (so you and I both can plan) to make this the BEST cruise yet.

We will include as many of the highlights from last year; like the photo session above the Golden Gate Bridge, the picnic in the Redwoods and Pismo beach drive. We have also added AN EXTRA DAY. So the pace will be more leisurely.

Tell us your favorites and what you would like to see this time. Maybe a track day, photo op or particular attraction (there are so many) along the way.

New stuff so far includes:

1. Campsites will be included in the itinerary near all motels. One night the Bus/Westy folks will host an old fashion weenie roast around the camp fire, (so brush up on you ghost stories).

2. "Busses invade Lombard St" We all drove down the famously winding Lombard St. on last year’s Hwy 1 Cruise. http://www.airheadparts.com/blog/index.php?cat=43&paged=8
The Busses (which you can best see) will lead the pack this year. We are doing a 3 camera video shoot and some poster quality stills. We need at least 25 Busses (1950- 1991) at 7am on Thursday August 5th to fill Lombard St. Top to Bottom. We have two possible discounted host hotels only blocks away….more on how to register at the bottom of this letter

Again, this is the Vintage VW Community here, so we are looking for your suggestions now.

As last year, the Cruise will begin following the Rose City Bug-In on Sunday August 1st and end with the VW Treffen 12 in Oxnard, CA on Sunday August 8th 2010. A detailed itinerary will be coming in the next two weeks.

As we always say, "Join us for 3 blocks or 300 miles (or 1000)".
